About this role

This role focuses on securing, maintaining, and nurturing both current and new business partnerships called Select Employer Group Partners (SEGs). The representative will attend and present at various events to branch communities, ensuring that relationships and community outreach efforts bring in new accounts to the credit union.

A typical day includes contacting and visiting prospective members, dealers, merchants, or SEG partners to present information on available services such as deposit accounts, lines-of-credit, cash management, electronic banking, lending products, or investment services. The representative also makes presentations on financial services to groups and manages all current and prospective SEG partners in the department tracking tool.

The ideal candidate is a go-getter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a passion for serving others. Public speaking is a must, and the representative should be comfortable working independently and as a contributing member of a team.

This position offers the opportunity to develop business and form relationships through indirect and direct sales channels, with frequent independent travel to SEG partner locations. The work schedule may fall outside normal hours to include weekends depending on partner needs.

Requirements

  • 1 year of experience with client relationships/management and business development
  • 2-year college degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communication, or a related field of study (additional related experience may be considered in lieu of meeting education requirements)
  • Prior experience in a financial institution is a plus
  • Excellent oral, written, and telephone communication skills
  • Strong public speaking and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

Responsibilities

  • Contact and visit prospective members, dealers, merchants, or SEG partners to present information on available services
  • Make presentations on financial services to groups to promote credit union products as needed
  • Manage and maintain all current and prospective SEG Partners, merchants, and contacts assigned to your territory in department tracking tool and applicable reports
  • Research the demographics of the area in which the credit union operates and develop contact lists of potential new SEGs or members
  • Serve as the primary liaison and contact for the credit union’s existing SEGs and maintain all facets of the relationship
  • Assist with planning and coordinating special events including chamber presentations, festival booths, marketing campaigns, and workshops
