About this role

GoCardless is a global bank payment company that helps over 100,000 businesses collect and send payments through direct debit, real-time payments, and open banking. As a Sales Development Representative, you will prospect and qualify new business opportunities with senior decision-makers across the UK&I.

You will introduce GoCardless to new customers, identify their pains, and uncover opportunities through email outreach, LinkedIn messaging, video, and phone calls. Your day-to-day involves researching and identifying relevant stakeholders in the sales decision-making process to grow the pipeline.

This role is part of an established, high-performing, and collaborative SDR team that consistently overachieves against its targets. You will work closely with experienced Sales Account Executives to win new business.

Tech/SaaS sales offers a clear growth path, and GoCardless provides an opportunity to progress into a closing Account Executive role over time. You don't necessarily need prior experience, as GoCardless will train you to become an expert on the value proposition and the market.

Requirements

  • Experience in an outbound B2B sales role is beneficial
  • Experience in customer-facing roles and a competitive target-oriented environment is beneficial
  • Highly motivated to maximise activity and to overachieve targets
  • Entrepreneurial mind-set with a hunger to succeed
  • Experience using Salesforce, working in a start-up, or FinTech company are all beneficial
  • Ability to talk passionately about what GoCardless does
  • Ability to find ways to motivate yourself and teammates, with a focus on positivity and camaraderie

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and qualify new business opportunities with senior decision-makers across the UK&I
  • Introduce GoCardless to new customers, identifying their pains and uncovering opportunities
  • Grow the pipeline through email outreach, LinkedIn messaging, video, and phone calls
  • Research and identify relevant stakeholders in the sales decision-making process
  • Nurture prospects through to a qualified opportunity
  • Maintain and track your activity on Salesforce.com
  • Develop the skills necessary for promotion to a closing or senior position
