About this role
D2L is a cloud company modernizing education and building the Future of Work. As a Business Development Representative, you will prospect into and develop new business within target institutions, promoting D2L’s learning platform and solutions.
Your day-to-day involves actively participating in outbound calling campaigns to generate sales opportunities. You will accurately capture and qualify leads from tradeshows, webinars, inbound calls, and marketing initiatives, then distribute qualified appointments to Sales Executives.
You will work closely with the sales team, gaining in-depth knowledge of D2L’s solutions, competition, and the eLearning industry. The role requires a keen interest in transforming how the world learns, with a focus on education and corporate sectors.
This is a challenging career opportunity with clear advancement paths within D2L. You will develop expertise in pipeline management, lead qualification, and achieving quarterly revenue targets while contributing to a mission that improves human potential globally.
Requirements
- Energetic, polished individual with exceptional communication skills
- Talent for relationship building and establishing customer relationships
- Strong interest in the eLearning industry and modernizing education
- Ability to accurately capture and qualify leads from multiple sources
- Capability to manage a sales pipeline and achieve quarterly revenue targets
- Effective use of technology stack including SFDC, Zoom Info, Outreach, Chorus AI, Vidyard
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and advance within the company
Responsibilities
- Actively participate in outbound calling campaigns to generate sales opportunities
- Exceed objectives within your assigned territory
- Understand and deliver D2L's unique value proposition and create solution vision with prospects
- Accurately capture and qualify leads from tradeshows, webinars, inbound calls, and other marketing initiatives
- Follow up with existing D2L contacts and develop them into sales prospects
- Distribute leads and make qualified appointments for Sales Executives
- Update customer interactions through the CRM tool and enhance existing account records
- Conduct market research and stay updated on product, industry, and competitor knowledge
