Requirements

  • Knowledge of engineering principles and transportation design practices
  • Proficiency with CAD software and technical drafting tools
  • Ability to conduct field surveys and interpret engineering data
  • Strong problem-solving skills applied to infrastructure challenges
  • Familiarity with construction inspection and quality control methods

Responsibilities

  • Assist with highway and roadway design projects in the Central Design Section
  • Prepare and review engineering drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Perform field inspections, surveys, and data collection across the district
  • Support construction oversight and quality assurance activities
  • Analyze traffic and transportation data to inform design decisions
  • Ensure compliance with TxDOT standards and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with internal teams on multi-county infrastructure initiatives
