In this role, you will generate technically and grammatically correct test reports on critical customer electrical assets. You will work with test data and reference materials supplied by Technical Service, Electrical Reliability Services, and High Voltage Maintenance teams.

You will validate electrical test data for various equipment types against IEEE/NETA, NEMA, NFPA, and ASTM standards. You will also perform peer reviews of customer test reports and coordinate corrections with ERS Service Center engineers.

Requirements

  • Ability to generate technically and grammatically correct test reports based on test data and reference materials.
  • Knowledge of electrical equipment types including switchgear, switchboard, transformers, cables, circuit breakers, and grounding systems.
  • Familiarity with IEEE/NETA, NEMA, NFPA, and ASTM standards for electrical testing.
  • Experience with PowerDB, eFolders, or similar data platforms for downloading and validating test data.
  • Ability to analyze infrared images, troubleshooting data, and power quality data to provide sound recommendations.
  • Strong attention to detail for peer reviewing test reports and ensuring completeness and logical sense of data.
  • Proficiency in using web-based report management tools such as ERS Report Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Download test data on critical electrical assets of the customer, as collected by Field Service technicians/engineers via PowerDB, eFolders, or other platforms.
  • Validate electrical test data for different types of electrical equipment per IEEE/NETA, NEMA, NFPA, and ASTM standards, and other references such as Doble.
  • Check completeness and logical sense of electrical test data, test results, and remedial recommendations in test datasheets, and make corrections as required.
  • Create and rework simple to medium complexity customer test reports using the web-based ERS Report Manager program.
  • Analyze infrared images, troubleshooting, and power quality data, and provide sound recommendations as required.
  • Perform peer review of simple to medium complexity customer test reports generated by peer Report Writers, and provide feedback and corrections as applicable.
  • Coordinate the review and correction of test data, and the review and approval of draft customer reports with ERS Service Center engineers and supervisors.
