About this role
The Business Development Representative is primarily responsible for lead generation activities in support of the company’s sales and service goals. This position manages incoming customer contacts and maintains accurate records in the Dealership Management System. The role supports both sales and service departments through consistent scheduling and follow-up.
Daily tasks include answering phone calls using a pre-set script to schedule appointments and responding to internet inquiries via email and phone. All customer comments are logged and follow-up contacts are scheduled when no appointment is made. No-show appointments are re-scheduled and outcomes are tracked with the appropriate departments.
The representative works within the Business Development Center and posts appointments on the shared board. Current customers are contacted regarding marketing incentives while website requests are handled promptly. Any concerns are forwarded to the correct department manager with follow-up to resolution.
CSI must be maintained at or above company standards while complying with all policies, safety rules, and core values. The position requires regular attendance including possible evenings, weekends, and holidays. Accurate timekeeping and participation in required training are expected.
Requirements
- High School Diploma required
- Up to 3 years of previous customer service or business development experience
- Ability to deliver superior customer satisfaction
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products and Dealership Management System
- Ability to understand and follow instructions while communicating effectively with customers and personnel
- Valid Driver’s License
- Regular and predictable attendance including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Responsibilities
- Answer all incoming phone calls according to a proven pre-set script and schedule sales or service appointments
- Log all customer comments into the Dealership Management System and schedule follow-up contact when no appointment is made
- Confirm scheduled appointments and post them on the Business Development Center appointment board
- Re-schedule no-show customer appointments and follow up with departments to track outcomes
- Respond to customer website requests and contact internet clients via email and phone to schedule appointments
- Contact current customer base regarding marketing incentives and maintain accurate customer database records
- Forward customer concerns to the correct department manager and follow up to resolution
