About this role
Cockroach Labs builds CockroachDB to survive failures and scale without compromise. The company is hiring an entry-level Sales Development Representative to drive pre-event marketing engagement from its Austin office.
This execution-focused role centers on generating registrations and setting meetings for executive dinners, regional field events, and RoachFest. You will run high-volume outreach using event-specific target lists and established playbooks.
The position works closely with Marketing and Field Events teams to ensure priority programs produce meaningful sales conversations. Activity, responses, and registration confirmations are tracked in Salesforce and Outreach.
You will ramp on CockroachDB positioning and core tools while learning the event calendar. Consistent execution of outreach sequences leads to independent management of multiple programs and routing of qualified conversations to account executives.
Requirements
- Based in Austin, TX with ability to work in the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.
- Ramp quickly on CockroachDB positioning, SDR workflows, and tools including Salesforce, Outreach, and ZoomInfo.
- Independently manage pre-event outreach sequences and meet activity targets for volume, registrations, and meetings set.
- Log all activity and outcomes in Salesforce consistently and accurately.
- Execute post-event follow-up sequences and route qualified conversations to account executives.
Responsibilities
- Execute high-volume structured outreach via email, phone, and LinkedIn to drive registrations for executive dinners, regional field events, and RoachFest.
- Coordinate pre-event meeting setting with target prospects ahead of each marketing program.
- Work from event-specific target lists to ensure full coverage of priority accounts.
- Follow established outreach sequences and messaging playbooks for each event type.
- Track outreach activity, responses, and registration confirmations in Salesforce and Outreach.
- Share registration status and engagement updates with the Marketing and Events team.
- Adhere to SDR team workflows for event-driven outreach and follow-up.
