About this role
This Market Development Representative role is designed to introduce you to sales from the very basic selling skills through advanced techniques. You will begin your Waystar career in training with our Client Support teams to gain a full understanding of our industry, clients, and how we make a difference in our markets.
Day-to-day you will generate leads, prospect potential customers, and close new accounts. You will prepare action plans and schedules to achieve specific targets in an activity sales model, and follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from marketing activities.
You will work closely with the Sales Manager to implement strategic marketing and sales execution plans in order to achieve business objectives. Additionally, you will build and manage relationships at all appropriate levels of accounts and communicate new product, service, initiative, and relevant information to new accounts.
This position is designed for a successful transition into a sales career with Waystar. The program consists of in-depth sales and marketing training and experiences to get you ready for your sales career, with opportunities to establish territory strategy and improve market penetration.
Requirements
- Strong customer relationship skills

- Proven history of leadership roles (classroom, internships, extracurricular activities)
- Outgoing and a self-starter with strong organizational skills
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and present a positive company image
Responsibilities
- Train and become highly knowledgeable of our products, operations, and industry
- Generate leads, prospect potential customers, and close new accounts

- Prepare presentations, proposals, and sales contracts
- Build and manage relationships at all appropriate levels of accounts

- Establish territory strategy to improve market penetration
