About this role

Keystone Civil is a boutique civil construction firm specialising in road projects, renewables, and pipeline works. Founded in 2013 with approximately 70 employees, we focus on being the best, not the biggest. We're seeking a Graduate Accountant to support our finance team at our Geelong Head Office.

In this role, you'll assist with month-end tasks including journals and reconciliations, support accounts payable and receivable processing, and help maintain accurate project cost data. You'll also contribute to financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting activities, and compliance tasks such as BAS preparation and payroll support.

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, you'll gain exposure across all areas of the finance function in a collaborative environment. Our team values a CAN DO attitude, being CONNECTED through relationships, and a COMMITTED approach to delivering quality outcomes.

Requirements

  • Recently completed or currently completing a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business, or a related field
  • Desire to pursue CA or CPA qualifications in the future (highly regarded)
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Confident using Excel and open to learning new finance systems
  • Comfortable working with numbers, problem-solving, and asking questions
  • Organised, reliable, and able to prioritise tasks
  • Clear communicator who can work collaboratively with operational and office-based teams
  • Any previous experience in construction, manufacturing, or project-based environments (even through placement or part-time work) is beneficial but not essential

Responsibilities

  • Assist with month-end tasks including journals, reconciliations, and data entry
  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Help maintain accurate project cost data across job sites and business units
  • Assist with preparation of financial reports and summaries
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities through data collection and analysis
  • Assist with compliance tasks such as BAS preparation, payroll support, and record management
  • Help maintain financial dashboards and KPI reporting
  • Provide general administrative and finance support as needed
