About this role

Imply is looking for a motivated and curious Business Development Representative (BDR) to help grow the adoption of our newest product, Imply Lumi. Built by the creators of Apache Druid, Lumi is the industry’s first observability warehouse, letting organizations store more data, support more use cases and spend less for observability.

In this role, you will generate new business opportunities through outbound prospecting via email, LinkedIn, events, and target campaigns. You will research heavily into accounts to maximize the value of outreach, qualify inbound leads, and guide early-stage discovery conversations with technical buyers like SREs and DevOps.

You will partner with Account Executives to transition qualified opportunities and support deal progression, while collaborating closely with Marketing to refine messaging and campaign targeting. Backed by leading investors including a16z and Bessemer Venture Partners, Imply is on a fast growth trajectory with customers like Pepsi, Reddit, Roblox, and Salesforce.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a technical, fast-evolving space and enjoys engaging with technical buyers. You will continuously learn about the product, the landscape, and SaaS industry trends, playing a critical role in building the pipeline and educating the market on Imply Lumi.

Requirements

  • Ability to manage time effectively, work independently, and be self-motivated
  • A passion for research as well as strong in-person, phone, and written customer communication skills
  • Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to make formal and informal presentations to staff and clients
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and shift work efforts based on the needs of the department or business goals
  • Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability
  • Strong knowledge of Salesforce

Responsibilities

  • Educate prospects on the value of Imply Lumi use cases
  • Partner with Account Executives to transition qualified opportunities and support deal progression
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing to refine messaging and campaign targeting
  • Maintain accurate activity and pipeline tracking in SFDC
  • Continuously learn about the product, the landscape and SaaS industry trends
