About this role

SkyWater Technology is seeking a Process Engineering Technician Specialist to support Advanced Packaging Process Development. In this role, you will perform experiments for the Engineering team and carefully document experimental observations to propose recommendations.

Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine checks and monitoring process performance using Statistical Process Control charts. You will operate, calibrate, and maintain semiconductor processing tools such as etchers, deposition systems, and metrology equipment, while also collecting process data for preliminary analysis.

You will work closely with process engineers, equipment technicians, and production operators in a cleanroom environment, adhering to strict safety and quality standards. Collaboration and effective communication through reports and shift passdowns are essential to this role.

Requirements

  • Two year Technical degree and/or 5+ years technician experience in a semiconductor fabrication facility, assembly or manufacturing.
  • Experience with semiconductor processing tools and metrology equipment (e.g., SEM, TEM, ellipsometry, profilometry).
  • Proficiency in using Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for process monitoring.
  • Ability to document experimental observations carefully and propose recommendations.
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols and safety regulations.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain detailed process logs and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Properly handle chemicals and hazardous materials as needed.
