About this role
This is an outstanding opportunity for an engineering graduate to make a lasting impact by mentoring the next generation of Royal Navy engineers. Leverage your degree knowledge to help get better trained personnel to the front line faster with no prior experience required, within the transformative Selborne programme.
You will deliver classroom instruction to groups of up to 24 trainees in electronic engineering and electrical machine principles. You will also conduct practical lab sessions, demonstrate key principles, and supervise trainee experiments while administering examinations, with marking and check-marking ensuring accuracy and consistency.
You will join Selborne, a bold £1 billion transformation of Royal Navy training led by Capita and a powerhouse consortium including Raytheon UK, Fujitsu, and the University of Lincoln. This collaborative mission modernises military education with cutting-edge simulators and data analytics under a 'one team' approach with the Royal Navy.
This role is offered on a term time basis working 45 weeks per year, with non-working weeks at Christmas, Easter, and August. Requirements
- Foundation Degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering (or a related engineering discipline).
- Previous experience working as an engineer (desirable).
- Eligibility for UK Security Clearance at SC level.
- Strong understanding of electronic engineering and electrical machine principles.
- Ability to administer and invigilate examinations effectively.
- Capability to maintain and update training materials in line with DSAT standards.
Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom instruction to groups of up to 24 trainees in electronic engineering and electrical machine principles at NVQ Level 4/5.
- Conduct practical lab sessions, demonstrating key principles and supervising trainee experiments.
- Administer and invigilate both paper-based and online examinations.
- Mark and check-mark assessments to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and update training materials to keep content current.
- Collaborate with Training Design staff to align content with DSAT standards and submit updates for approval.
