About this role

As a damage expert with a background in mechanical or electrical engineering, you analyze and assess technical and mechanical damage to installations, machines, and structural systems. You combine technical depth with practical insight to reach clear, substantiated conclusions for each case, helping determine causes and recommend appropriate actions.

You inspect and evaluate damage on site, analyze causes using calculations, technical documentation, and drawings, and prepare detailed expert reports. You advise clients, insurers, and other parties on repair measures, technical risks, and preventive solutions, translating complex technical issues into understandable conclusions.

You collaborate with clients, contractors, installers, and insurers, and coordinate with internal and external experts. In multidisciplinary teams, knowledge sharing and quality are central, and you enjoy the variety between office, home, and field work, offering a dynamic mix of analysis and stakeholder interaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with technical analysis, inspections, and/or damage investigation is a plus.
  • Ability to prepare clear, structured, and practical reports.
  • Enjoying the variety between working at the office/home and being on the road.
  • Excellent command of Dutch and English, both spoken and written.
  • Accurate and able to quickly adapt to questions from different disciplines.
  • A true team player who values work pleasure and shares knowledge readily.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct on-site inspections at diverse damage cases across industry, utility, and infrastructure.
  • Prepare clear and well-substantiated expert reports.
  • Advise clients, insurers, and stakeholders on repair measures, technical risks, and preventive solutions.
  • Translate complex technical issues into understandable conclusions for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal specialists and external experts on complex damage cases.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams focused on knowledge sharing and quality.
