About this role

Our AI-Native Engineering Traineeship is designed for young professionals who want to operate at the intersection of technology, AI and business. This hands-on journey focuses on becoming a modern digital consultant and engineer. You learn how modern engineers use AI to design, develop, automate and deliver intelligent digital solutions more effectively.

As a Young Professional at Sopra Steria you contribute to real client environments from day one. You learn how AI is reshaping software engineering, product development and digital transformation. Work occurs in compact multidisciplinary teams focused on outcomes, automation and business value.

Using agile ways of working you help customers tackle innovation and complex business challenges. Assignments cover AI-native application engineering, agentic workflows, cloud-native development and system integration. You combine software engineering with AI-enabled workflows and business understanding.

You follow a comprehensive training programme guided by experienced colleagues, your dedicated people manager and the Sopra Steria Academy. The role strengthens consulting skills including communication, stakeholder interaction, critical thinking and ownership while delivering real business impact.

Requirements

Holds a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field
Strong interest in software engineering, AI and emerging technologies
Curious about the future of AI-native product development and intelligent automation
Enjoys solving business and technical challenges together with others
Combines analytical thinking with a pragmatic and hands-on mindset
Eagerness to continuously learn and evolve quickly
Comfortable navigating both technical and business discussions
Communicates fluently in Dutch or French and has professional knowledge of English

Responsibilities

Design and deliver intelligent digital solutions combining software engineering and AI-enabled workflows
Orchestrate agentic workflows and AI solutions in multidisciplinary teams
Develop modern and cloud-native applications with system integration and APIs
Build automation and intelligent process flows for client projects
Perform functional and technical analysis using agile product delivery methods
Apply DevOps and platform thinking to AI-native engineering assignments
Solve business and technical challenges through AI-enabled approaches
