As a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in the Asset Integrity Section, support clients with advisory services to manage mechanical integrity of production, transmission, and distribution energy assets throughout their life cycle. Deliver projects including proposal preparation, methodology development, analysis, reporting, and recommendations that fulfil client expectations. Collaborate with Fitness For Service and Vibration and Asset Health teams.
The Risk Advisory department delivers consultancy-based safety, integrity, and risk management services to oil and gas, hydrogen, carbon dioxide, and renewables sectors. Specialist integrity teams provide failure investigation, fitness for service assessment, stress analysis, life extension, risk-based inspection, and asset health assessment. Lead in advising clients on repurposing assets for hydrogen or carbon dioxide transportation.
The structured Graduate Programme enhances technical and professional skills while supporting the journey towards chartership and becoming an expert. Gain comprehensive experience across service offerings with multi-disciplinary teams. Opportunities exist to work across other Asset Integrity teams and the wider DNV group.
Requirements
- Knowledge of degradation mechanisms in pressure vessels and pipelines
- Ability to perform engineering calculations, data interpretation, and technical analysis
- Understanding of fitness-for-service assessments for pressure equipment
- Familiarity with pipework vibration measurements and root cause analysis
- Awareness of risk-based inspection and asset health assessment methods
- Interest in failure investigation and life extension strategies
Responsibilities
- Support clients across the energy industry through advisory services and consultancy to manage mechanical integrity of assets
- Deliver projects across all stages including proposal preparation, methodology development, analysis, reporting, and recommendations
- Develop and implement methods for fitness-for-service assessments of pressure equipment, tanks, and pipelines
- Conduct pipework and structural vibration measurements and investigations to identify root causes and assess risk
- Perform theoretical analysis of vibration, fluid pulsation, and noise issues
- Investigate failures and mechanical integrity issues
- Conduct plant condition assessments, compressor testing, and plant surveys for compliance
