About this role

Ecolab seeks a Trainee in Chemical Engineering or Industrial Chemistry to join the Nalco Water Paper team in Navarra. Recent graduates can expand knowledge and acquire experience alongside a tutor at client facilities. This role supports contractual services in the paper industry.

Daily tasks involve sample collection and management in the plant, executing analyses, and documenting results per internal procedures. Develop technical knowledge on applications, treatments, equipment function, basic maintenance, and fault detection. Perform calibrations, adjustments, minor repairs, and recommend chemical dosing changes.

Provide technical support to clients by identifying incidents, offering first solutions, and escalating cases. Collaborate with the operational team in the plant to detect and resolve process issues. Communicate results, observations, and recommendations clearly to the technical team and assigned tutor.

Requirements

  • Technical or higher education in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering
  • Completed studies within the last 3 years
  • Reside in Navarra or Logroño
  • B driving license
  • Intermediate English level
  • Previous experience or internships in industrial environments, ideally water treatment or paper industry
  • Training or knowledge in Mechanical Maintenance, Water Treatment, or paper industry areas

Responsibilities

  • Support compliance with contractual services alongside a tutor at client facilities

  • Perform calibrations, technical adjustments, minor repairs on equipment, and recommend chemical dosing
  • Comply with Ecolab safety norms, including incident notification per established procedures
